What makes a story great? Is it the characters or the plot? Or maybe it’s the setting? The 2015 Nebula Award nominees show us that science fiction writers know how to create compelling stories.
The Nebula Awards are given out annually to honor outstanding achievements in science fiction writing. This year, the winners will be announced at the annual Nebula Awards Weekend held in Portland, Oregon from May 20th to 22nd.
Science fiction has always been a genre that explores new ideas and possibilities. From the early days of H.G. Wells’s War of the Worlds to today’s sci-fi blockbusters, science fiction has become a staple of modern culture. It is an exciting time for science fiction as more people than ever before are reading and enjoying this fantastic subgenre.
Nebula Award Winners Announced!
The Nebulas are one of the most prestigious awards in science fiction. They were established by the Science Fiction Writers of America (SFWA) in 1966.
The award was originally called the “Hugo Award for Best Novel.” In 1971, SFWA changed the name to “Best Novella” and then again to “Best Short Story” in 1977. Finally, in 1986, they decided on “Best Novel.” Since then, the award has grown into what it is today: one of the most important honors in the world of science fiction.
